'Once Upon A Time' Season 4 Episode 5 'Breaking Glass' Review

Non Spoiler Review- First of all I'm sorry that many of these reviews are late but I've been busy the last few weeks and I'm writing these with knowledge of what happens in future episodes so I'll avoid spoiling anything revealed in the next episode. But this episode focused more on Emma and Regina which is something we haven't seen in a while. It was nice to learn more of how Emma got where she is and I like how the Snow Queen is turning out as a villain. They didn't really develop any of the other characters except they slightly developed Elsa.

Highlights of the episode

1.The Snow Queen was Emma's foster mom- This was a big twist and help explains how the Snow Queen knew Emma. I'm guessing she erased Emma's memories or something but I like that the Snow Queen has a motivation. This also explains why she hasn't tried to get Emma out of the way.

2. Emma and Regina resolve conflict- It was nice to see these two work together and become friends after Regina kind of shut everyone out following Emma's return from the past. I'm glad they resolved their differences. 

3. Mirror betrays Regina- This was one plot twist I didn't see coming. I liked that the Snow Queen only needed him to construct her evil mirror that we don't know much about as of now but this reveals Sydney Glass has no loyalties but looks out for himself. He took advantage of the opportunity to be free rather than help Regina. 

4. Emma's backstory- It was very nice to learn more behind Emma's backstory and it fit in with what was going on in the present because it revealed why she didn't really trust Regina. I'm sure this character will return in a future episode in some capacity possibly may be some one from the Enchanted Forest like Baelfire but I doubt it. It hasn't happened in the episodes I have seen as of now.

5. Snow Queen tricks Elsa- I was glad to see Elsa overcome her fear in order to escape the Snow Queen's trap. It reveals she will do anything to help her find Elsa.
