'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 3 Episode 1 'Laws of Nature' Review

Non Spoiler Review-  As I have stated in my Season 2 reviews of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' the series had a rocky start but towards the end of the first season found its footing and went into Season 2 guns blazing. I can say that I liked this premiere episode even more than the Season 2 premiere which I loved. This episode brought the viewer's up to speed on what has occurred between the Season 2 finale and now, answered some major cliffhanger questions to last season all while retaining a few mysteries that should be resolved throughout the season. Overall, I think it was certainly a solid season premiere and probably the best one I've reviewed so far!

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Simmons' location- We don't know exactly where Simmons is but we can tell that she is not on Earth possibly on another planet, in another realm, the possibilites are endless. I can't wait to learn more about where the Monolith sent her but it seems as though it will be a major subplot for the first half of the season at least. But something interesting to note was that Simmons seemed to be running from something so there must be other life on the planet, or where ever she is.
2. Fitz searches for clues about Simmons- Fitz is one of my favorite characters on the show and his emotional scenes manage to always make me empathize for him. He really manages to always shines in these emotional moments particularly a very powerful one at the end of the episode that will probably break almost every viewer's heart. I hope to see even more scenes of this caliber from Fitz and I love the development he's gone through throughout the show.
3. S.H.I.E.L.D. Inhuman retrieval system- I tried to compile as much as I could in here in relation to what S.H.I.E.L.D. is now up to and their new gadgets and toys, etc. The coolest of which is the new Bus called the Zephyr One that looks amazing and is pictured above. It really resembles a massive quintet to me and I think it's visually stunning.  S.H.I.E.L.D. also has these cool rooms with jets that contain inhuman and help contain their powers. It was also great to see Daisy in action with much more control of her abilities.
4. Coulson's new hand- I like Coulson's new hand because it is simple yet elegant. He seems to have multiple hands to switch out of or at least that's what I gathered from the episode so maybe we'll see one with some special gadgets.
5. Hunter is looking for Ward- Hunter is trying to find Ward to avenge what he did to Bobbi I'm guessing although it wasn't quite made clear what effect Bobbi had from her injuries. As all that was spoken in relation to it was that Bobbi wasn't ready to go back in the field. But I'm very interested in this subplot and if the rumors of a Mockingbird/ Lance Hunter spinoff are true, I would like to see this storyline in that spinoff.
6. MCU references-  This episode had quite a few MCU references with nods to essentially every major event over Phase 2 and 'The Avengers'. These were mainly featured in a speech given by President Ellis (who you may recognize from 'Iron Man 3') that included him referring to incidents in New York ('The Avengers'), London ('Thor: The Dark World'), Washington D.C. ('Captain America: The Winter Soldier'), and Sokovia ('Avengers: Age Of Ultron'). The events at Pym tech ('Ant-Man') were also mentioned by Coulson and Sokovia was name dropped a few more times. It's always fun to catch easter eggs like this and it certainly adds to the experience of watching the show.
7. Lash?- My one complaint of the episode is how ridiculous Lash looks. The quills look silly as well as the make up and you can really tell the show sacrificed his appearance to use it's budget in other ways. I hope they work to fix this if at all possible by possibly modifying his look.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 2 Episode 15 'One Door Closes' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode was the best episode of the series yet. It provides answers to many questions, and is one of the most action-packed episodes of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and everyone in the cast delivers a great performance.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Gordon takes Skye- At the end of the episode Skye unleashes her powers on a S.H.I.E.L.D. taskforce sent to retrieve her. She is then distraught and calls for Gordon to help her and he teleports her to the Inhuman base. I'm excited to learn more about this group of Inhumans, etc.
2. Skye loses control- When Skye loses control she accidentally kills an agent. I enjoyed the visual effects used for this as it is done in low motion and you can see the vibrations. It is also revealed Skye doesn't control seismic activity but actually controls vibrations.
3. Lance Hunter officially joins S.H.I.E.L.D.- At the very end of the episode we see Coulson at what I assume is a bar in Tahiti and Lance Hunter joins him and signs his name on a napkin. He then tells Coulson that is his contract and that he wants to join Coulson. I can't wait to see the two of them try to take on the other S.H.I.E.L.D. next episode.
4. S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.- In the episode the "Real S.H.I.E.L.D" infiltrates Coulson's base and takes over. It seems as though this is the foundation for 'Captain America Civil War' as it has two opposing factions of S.H.I.E.L.D. fighting over their different perspectives and the two factions disagree about superhumans.

5. Banner built the cabin- Skye discovers a giant fist that is later confirmed as the Hulk's when she removes a board. IT is also confirmed that Banner was the one that constructed the cabin but I find it odd that it is a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility made by Banner.
6. Fits-Simmons- It seems as thought Fitz-Simmons are reunited as best friends or whatever they were by the shock of the two S.H.I.E.L.D. factions. They are even referred to as Fitz-Simmons throughout the episode. I hope to see their relationship repair itself in the future episodes.
7. The "Real S.H.I.E.L.D." is born- There is a series of flashbacks in this episode that go back to the day SHIELD fell and the "Real S.H.I.E.L.D." is born. It was interesting to see the ideals that formed this new S.H.I.E.L.D.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 2 Episode 14 'Love In The Time Of Hydra' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode is a much better than last week's mediocre episode and provides some more answers and has quite a few twists and reveals.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. The Real SHIELD- We learn a little bit more about the "Real SHIELD" and that they want to remove Coulson. However we also learn that they all believe that Fury is dead so it seems only a few members of Coulson's team along with Captain America, Black Widow, Maria Hill and Falcon. Due to this I don't think they are the Secret Avenger because that groups is commissioned by Fury. This also means they don't know that Fury appointed Coulson director. I can't wait to see them fight against Coulson's team next episode.
2. Plans for Bakshi- At the end of the episode it is shown that Agent 33 and Ward are brainwashing Bakshi for unknown purposes. I'm curious to learn of their plans and what they intend to use Bakshi for or what they want him to do.
3. Agent 33- This episode really expands on Agent 33 and I'm glad to see that she wants to take charge of her own fate due to Ward's teachings. I enjoyed the interaction between her and Ward and hope to see her character further developed.
4. Skye's Isolation- Another interesting aspect was that Coulson isolated Skye in a cabin that Captain America previously stayed in following his defrosting. It was interesting to hear him tell Skye she is one of the few people that he trusts and that he removed her from the environment of SHIELD. It makes me wonder if he did it because he was worried about her or for another reason.
5. The Real SHIELD's Base of Operations- When Lance Hunter escapes the "Real SHIELD's" facility it is revealed to be an aircraft carrier. At first I thought it was a helicarrier but I can neither confirm or deny that it is a helicarrier since it is in the water and the helicarrier appears to be an aircraft carrier in water. I'm excited to see learn more about the "Real SHIELD".
6. Fitz Simmons Argument- When Fits and Simmons argue about the level of Skye's powers comparing them to Captain America and the Hulk it seemed to me that it is the roots of Civil War. Another aspect I see that is a tease for Civil War could be the "Real SHIELD" vs. Coulson's team.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 1 Episode 22 'Beginning of the End' Season Finale Review

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Top 5 Moments

5. Fitz and Simmons share a great moment- I thought it was interesting that Fitz was willing to sacrifice himself in order to save Simmons. I'm curious if he has feelings for her but I'm sure it will be answered next season.
4. Coulson blasts Garrett- This was such a Coulson moment, I loved that it seemed that Garrett would become a bigger threat and Coulson just blasted him and said he found the artifact. It was one of my favorite moments of the season for Coulson and it was great to see this personality back on the show.
3. Nick Fury-Nick Fury stole the spotlight as soon as he showed up on screen. He had an epic entrance and helped clear a lot of questions. I was glad that he made Coulson the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D and was relieved when they came to a new base with Patton Oswalt back. I loved the fight scene with Fury and Coulson against Garrett. Hopefully Fury can come back in future episodes.
2. Reina approaches Skye's father- I was very shocked to see that Reina's in cahoots with Skye's father hopefully he will be revealed in Season 2.
1. Coulson writes on the wall-I thought this was very interesting because we saw the Miracle drug is affecting Coulson's mental state but this will be further explored next season.
Overall this was a great season finale but it posed more new questions than it answered.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 1 Episode 21 'Ragtag' Review

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Top 5 Moments

5. Garett is injected with the miracle drug- I was glad to see Garrett become more than just the mastermind traitor becoming an actual threat to the team and that he now has superpowers.
4. Fitz and Simmons try to take the Bus-It was great to see Fitz and Simmons in the action when they ignored an order and tried to get the 'Bus' back from Hydra.
3. Garrett is a part of Deathlok- I was surprised to discover Garrett was a part of the Deathlok program early on and is a cyborg that is dying.
2. The team infiltrates Cybertek- This was a great sequence where Coulson and May each posed as Fitz and Simmons respectively in order to infiltrate Cybertek, I also liked that they threw the filing cabinet out of the window.
1. Ward shows mercy-My favorite part of the episode is when Ward saved Fitz and Simmons by releasing them from the plane and in the flashback let the dog live. It reveals that he still has a heart and cares about more than just Skye.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 1 Episode 20 'Nothing Personal' Review

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Top 5 Moments

5. Maria Hill- It is great to see her make an extended appearance on the show and hopefully she will return since 'How I Met Your Mother' is over. I enjoy her performance as Maria Hill and her reveal that Stark is taking over the remnants of S.H.I.E.L.D.
4. Skye tricks Ward- I really enjoy watching Skye and Ward interact together on screen and this was another great aspect to add to the relationship.
3. Deathlok- I feel one of the best things on the show translated from the comics is Deathlok because he is able to come on screen and seem fearsome. The best scenes involving Deathlok were the scene where he stops Ward's heart and restarts it and the scene where Coulson realizes Deathlok is on board and freaks out.
2.Coulson rescues Skye- This is probably one of the best action sequences on the show so far and it was great to see Lola in action especially when it flies.
1. T.A.H.I.T.I.- It was intriguing when Coulson discovered that he himself initiated the Tahiti project. I wonder how it will play into future episodes.
