'Arrow' Season 3 Episode 11 'Midnight City' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Another great episode that highlights Laurel Lance's Black Canary arc, and takes advantage of Oliver's absence in Starling. Once again not the best episode, but an enjoyable one nonetheless!

Highlights of the episode

1. Team Canary?- It was cool to see Team Arrow working with laurel to save the alderman, so will the team become Team Canary. I liked how Laurel messed up since everyone makes mistakes and it's her first real outing as a hero. I noticed that by the end of the episode she was able to convince Team Arrow she was capable of filling her sister's shoes. 

2. Laurel has to lie to her father- One of the sad moments was when Laurel used a voice changer to call her dad pretending to be Sara. Another was when she met with her father in the Black canary costume from the top of the roof and Captain Lance was convinced she was Sara. I feel like Laurel will eventually have to come clean and tell her dad about Sara's death because he deserves to know. 

3. Maseo betrays the League- One of the big shocking moments in the episode was when Maseo betrays the League by killing a few assassins, because if Ra'as discovered his betrayal the implications would be very large. 

 

4. Undercover DJ- The biggest twist was when the DJ at Thea's club called in to Maseo and revealed he is a member of the League of Assassins. This was shocking to me because he seemed like a throw-away supporting character but he is obviously more important than we think. he has been spying on Thea and Merlin in his stay in Starling City so maybe the league will come to Starling by the end of the season.

5. "I don't like hitting women"- Brick may be ruthless but he says he doesn't like to hit woman, the end fight scene was great and probably one of the coolest stunts Oliver wasn't involved in. I'm excited to see more of Laurel and Team Arrow fighting for the Glades.
