Non Spoiler Review- The best episode of 'Arrow' by far. This episode may not be as action packed as others but has plenty of interesting drama and each actor delivers great performances. Stephen Amell gives his best performance ever as Oliver Queen this week displaying a wide range of emotions and acting. John Barrowman also stood out this week and I can;t wait to see if the show will continue to get better for the remainder of the season.
*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******
Highlights of the episode
1. Al-Sah-Him (Heir to the Demon) - Oliver decides to stay and become the heir to the demon. He is given his new League of Assassins wardrobe, and a new Arrow tattoo since Al-Sah-Him apparently means the Arrow. I'm excited and curious to see what will become of Oliver Queen and I have some theories regarding the League I will share later in the review.
2. Thea brought back with the Lazarus Pit- Thea is found stabbed in her apartment, rushed to the emergency room and pronounced dead. Oliver is given the option to bring her back with the lazarus pit in exchange for becoming Heir to the Demon. I wasn't too surprised Thea was brought back since it was heavily teased but was surprised to fins her changed by the pit. She seemed normal by the end of the episode but I wonder what lasting effects it will have on her mental state, etc.
3. Felicity and Oliver reveal their feelings- Felicity goes to oliver and the two tell each other how they feel and then Felicity attempts to smuggle Oliver away but fails when he awakens and says he will stay, I'm curious to see what Felicity may do to try to get Oliver back no that he is in the League.
4. Ra's spares Sarab- Sarab assists Team Arrow in their escape and it seems as though he will be executed but Ra's spares him because he says those were the actions of maseo. I have a theory that people mainly join the League of Assassins when they lose someone they love (ie. Maseo, Merlin, etc.) and when they join are asked to renounce their past and become a new person as an assassin which means someone who stands apart from society. I think that they are somehow "brainwashed" or something because they seem totally different after joining and based off of the promos Oliver will be different as Al-Sah-Him. I think that it takes a discussion with someone who points out that pieces of their soul are missing for them to become themselves again which is what happened to Sarab when he spoke to Diggle.
5. Ra's background- We learn a little more about Ra's and that when he became Heir to the Demon he was given the choice to watch his wife and child die or leave without saying goodbye. he chose to leave and I think this adds a lot of depth to the character that is necessary for a villain . I hope to maybe get some Ra's flashbacks.
