*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******
Highlights of the episode
1. Flash travels back in time again- This episode sees Barry travel back a day in time and I really like to see Barry deal with time travel as it's an interesting aspect of the character's abilities and a great plot device that allows for crazy antics to occur. I was very surprised to see Barry travel in time as I wasn't expecting him to do it again anytime soon but really enjoyed it's inclusion in the crossover.
2. Merlin collects Vandal Savage's ashes- At the very end of the episode we see Malcolm collecting Vandal Savage's ashes and places it in some container and says that he owes him one. So I'm curious to lear what Malcolm will be doing with these ashes and if this means he will resurrect Vandal Savage somehow prior to 'Legends of Tomorrow'.
3. Final fight against Vandal Savage- The final fight against Savage was a really cool action sequence, especially since we saw seven heroes onscreen fighting at once as somewhat of a tv Justice League. I really enjoyed this scene but thought that it was somewhat lacking and a little brief. I wish we had seen them all fight together throughout the episode rather than a few minutes at the end of the episode.
4. Oliver seeks to develop a relationship with his son- This episode primarily focuses on the outcome of Oliver learning abut his son. He first tries to confirm that William is his son through genetic testing and asking Samantha about it. He is very persistent and discovers the truth and Samantha tells him about how Moira asked her to leave and pretend she had miscarriage and that she was offered a million dollars but she never cashed the check. She tells Oliver he must keep it a secret if he is going to ever see his son, to which he agrees. This then causes huge problems between him and Felicity which causes problems as I will discuss later. I really like this arc and how Oliver wants to be apart of William's life as he should be and I'm curious to see how this arc will be continued in the future of the series.
5. Hawkman gives Hawkgirl her suit- A very small moment was when Hawkman began explaining to Kendra about her past and pulls out her costume and I liked this moment and how it began her journey to being Hawkgirl.
6. The heroes lose- One interesting thing to me was how this episode took advantage of Barry's ability to travel through time to show alternative outcomes to show just how severe the consequences are against Vandal Savage. It was insane to see all of the characters vaporized by the Staff of Horus.
7. More Hawkgirl/Hawkman backstory- I was very intrigued to learn more about these two as I'm too knowledgable on either character and seeing more of their origin was very interesting. I can't wait to see them on 'Legends of Tomorrow' and learn more about their characters.
8. The plan- I liked the plan that the team developed and how they were given a chance to try to go through with the plan again thanks to Barry and I liked how Oliver allowed the whole team to help at the end rather than their first attempt which failed.
9. Repercussions of Oliver's secret- As I discussed earlier, Oliver had to keep his son a secret and he decides to keep it from Felicity and this has some serious repercussions for their relationship although this is resolved thanks to Barry's time travel. Barry warns Oliver of this and says he should tell Felicity but he decides to keep it a secret so I feel that that will come back and damage there relationship soon. I'm curious if and when he will tell Felicity the truth and what her reaction will be to the news.
10. Avengers: Age Of Ultron Easter Egg- One little reference was at the beginning of the episode when Team Flash and Team Arrow go to an isolated farm and Thea says "Superheroes in a farmhouse? I feel like I've seen that in a movie." It refers to 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' when the Avengers stay at Hawkeye's farmhouse. I thought this was a fun little reference and would like to see more references like this in either series.
