Non Spoiler Review- This episode is probably one of the best episodes this season as it leaves a big cliffhanger with large implications as seen in the promo for next week's episode that also connects the dots of connective tissue and explains the purpose of some of the flashbacks, etc. seen earlier this season and unfortunately we must wait two week's for another new episode.
*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******
Highlights of the episode
1. The Author- At the end of the episode the Author is freed from the book revealed to be a simple Peddler, who was seen in the flashback. He then just escapes to do who knows what. It is also unveiled that the author isn't merely a person but a position. Based on the promo which showcases the wicked witch of the West returning, I think the author will somehow bring her back from the dead due to his history of tampering with the stories.2. Maleficent's child- It is also revealed what became of Maleficent's child. She is revealed to have been transported to Earth (along with Ursula and Cruella I assume) and is adopted and named Lily. Lily is the girl who befriended Emma in a flashback earlier this season so I have speculated that her character may come to Storybook and join the cast later this season possibly helping the Queens of Darkness or just maleficent.
3. Emma has a negative reaction to the truth- Emma seems very distraught that she has been lied to and seems quite angry with her parents after learning the truth. She refused to speak with them so I do think it is possible she could become evil with her motivation being her anger towards her family, etc.
4. Gold has something that will make Regina work for him- After seeing the fake page that Regina brings Gold, she is put to sleep and taken to her lair by Rumpled and the two remaining Queens of Darkness. Once they are in her vault Gold says he has something that will motivate her to align herself with the group. We don't really know what this is yet but I assume it is related to Robin because I can't think of much else that would motivate Regina to actually help their group.
5. The Charming want to destroy the page- I the middle of the episode the Charming think that they can end everything by destroying the page but decide the best course of action is to tell the truth and free that author to please Emma and Henry. I liked this character growth for the couple because they finally made a good decision instead of lying although I can't justify whether releasing the author was good or bad yet.
