'Agent Carter' Season 2 Episode 3 'Better Angels' Review

Non Spoiler Review- An episode that really brings the fun and levity back to 'Agent Carter'. I really liked the espionage aspect of this episode as that led to some great moments. I'm really enjoying this second season so far and can't wait to see where the show is headed.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Whitney Frost- This episode provided more in regards to Whitney Frost as a villain and we see the zero matter spread on her forehead. I'm curious to see if this will lead to her adopting her alter-ego, Madame Masque or if we will see Frost wearing a mask as a nod.
2. Howard Stark helps out- I liked that this episode brought Howard Stark back into the series as it allowed for some fun hilarious moments. I also liked how he discovered what happened to Jason Wilkes, helped Peggy in her investigation as well as helping to find a solution to Wilke's predicament.
3. Thompson discovers Peggy was right- I liked how the episode ended where Thompson was brought into learning about the Arena Club and he saw that everything Peggy learned in her infiltration was true.
4. Peggy confronts Whitney Frost- Peggy confronts Frost after potentially learning about her more villainous nature. I really liked how Frost reacted and used her acting abilities to manipulate her husband to hire  hitman to help take her out. I thought that made her a much more interesting antagonist for the season.
5. J.A.R.V.I.S.- I really liked the little reference to Edwin Jarvis becoming the basis for JARVIS in this episode through a quick reference when Jarvis says he doesn't want to become a disembodied voice.

'Agent Carter' Season 2 Episode 1 & 2 'The Lady in the Lake' and 'A View In The Dark' Review

Episode 1 'The Lady in the Lake'

Non Spoiler Review- A season premiere that brings us right back into the fold kicking off with Peggy right back in the action. The episode does a good job of bridging the gap between seasons and establishing the essential plot set forth for the remainder of the season. I really enjoyed the introduction of some new characters as well as the return of a few favorites from last season. The series has some new gags to play up that were particularly amusing and some great action as well! I can say it was a great start for a new season that bridged perfectly with the second episode.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. The Opening- My favorite part of the episode was seeing Peggy fight Dottie Underwood and bring her down in the very beginning of the episode. It made for a great fight sequence with some very cool shots. I hope to see more action similar to this throughout the season.
2. Darkforce- The main MCU connection for the episode and likely the entire series is the presence of Darkforce, which is a connection to the upcoming 'Doctor Strange' as well as a previous episode of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'. I'm curious to learn more about it and it's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
3. Chief Thompson needs Peggy- I really liked that Chief Thompson was essentially forced to the realization that he needs Peggy after he sends her to the LA branch of the SSR to work on a case. I liked that it shows how far she's progressed in terms of being accepted as one of the agency's top agents.
4. Peggy leads investigation- Along the same lines as my previous highlight, I liked that Peggy is in charge of the investigation once again showing how far she's come in terms of acceptance.
5. Bernard Stark- The hilarious part of the episode was the fact that Howard Stark now has a flamingo, especially Jarvis' dislike towards the creature which is further used for humor in the next episode.

Episode 2 'A View In The Dark'

Non Spoiler Review- A great continuation from the season premiere episode and the two worked well packaged together into what is basically a longer two hour episode. I liked the developments made in the episode in regards to further character relationships and some intriguing plot points. Overall, it made for a great collaboration with the first episode delving deeper into characters, the plot, and some fun action.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Whitney Frost- At the end of the episode following the explosion of the Dark Matter, we learn that somehow Whitney Frost survived but she now has Dark Matter embedded in her. Maybe this will help guide her towards becoming Madame Masque as her character is in the comics. I'm also very curious to learn what became of Jason since he was present when the Dark Matter exploded as well.
2. Peggy and Jason- This episode really focused on potentially making Jason a new love interest for Peggy as there is clearly chemistry between them. I'm curious to see how this develops and if it will lead to anything further.
3. Hydra!- I thought those lapel pins looked familiar. They match the sketches shown in a recent episode of 'Agents of S..H.I.E.L.D.' where it's revealed that the organization Will was working for and the ATCU were Hydra. So now that we know that this is Hydra I'm curious to see how that will play into the series given Peggy's history with the group.
4. Howard's car- Howard Stark's car had a number of features that I fund to be hilarious and was effectively used for some great gags.
5. Jarvis chasing Bernard Stark- This was one of the funniest moments of the episode as we learn why Jarvis loathes Bernard and calls him "The Devil in Pink". I hope to see bernard used throughout the series for some a few gags.

'Agent Carter' Season 1 Episode 8 'Valedication' Season Finale Review

Non Spoiler Review- The season finale ends the 'Agent Carter' miniseries with a bang, theres some great cameos and Easter eggs, character development, and a nice ending to the season that leaves a door open for season 2. Overall, the season finale proves to be the best episode and I do hope the series will be renewed for a second season because it fit quite nicely in the break between the first and second half of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Arnim Zola- During the post credits scene it is revealed that the Russian doctor, whose name I still do not know, is placed in the same cell as Arnim Zola. It seems as though Zola will recruit the doctor to Hydra and this is the open door for a potential second season which will possibly show the creation of S.H.I.E.L.D. and how hydra infiltrated it as revealed in 'Captain America The Winter Soldier'.
2. Peggy dumps the blood- At the end of the episode Jarvis gives Peggy the Steve Rogers blood sample because he believes she is the only one who would know what to do with the sample. Carter decides to dump the blood in a river so maybe we will see a superfish. I thought this was gave a good sense of closure to Stark weaponry plot.
3. Howard's fantasy- The doctor hypnotizes Howard Stark and last episode it was revealed that when the doctor hypnotizes someone they enter a fantasy where they believe they are doing the right thing. On thing I liked about the fantasy was the inclusion of Captain America's shield as an Easter egg. I thought it was interesting that Stark's biggest regret was losing Captain America, which he considered his only noble creation. Perhaps Stark mentioned this when speaking to Tony as given evidence in the Avenger when Rogers and Tony are arguing and Tony mentions that his father spoke so highly about the Captain. I also recently read a theory that the doctor's ring is likely one of the Mandarin rings, which oils possibly a subtle Easter egg that suggests there is a real mandarin. This is also proven in the Marvel One-Shot 'All Hair the King'.
4. Peggy vs. Dottie- The climactic fight scene was a heated fight between Dottie and Peggy which I consider to be the best action scene of the season. In the end Dottie escapes leaving the possibility for her return if 'Agent Carter' is given a second season.
5 Peggy on the radio again- This scene seemed to allude to the scene in 'Captain America The First Avenger' where Peggy is speaking to Steve as he crashes so it's interesting to think that the season began and ended with a similar scene.

'Agent Carter' Season 1 Episode 7 'Snafu' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode is the best episode so far because it is one of the most thrilling and suspenseful episodes of 'Agent Carter'. Unfortunately next week's episode is the season finale, but hopefully ABC will order a second season or announce a new show for the winter break between midseason finale and premiere of 'Agents of S.H.I.LE.L.D.'.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Dooley sacrifices himself- A very sad part of the episode is when Chief Dooley is strapped to a vest that will heat until exploding. Since there is no way to remove himself from the vest Dooley makes the decision to jump out of the window to save his SSR agents. His death was very unexpected and tragic.
2. Item 17- The doctor hypnotises Dooley to obtain one of Stark's weapons, Item 17. This is revealed to be some kind of gas that makes people fight each other. I'm sure that next week's episode will reveal more about this weapon and Leviathan's plot.
3. Peggy tells the truth- It was very interesting to see Peggy make the decision to tell Dooley the truth about her private investigation, etc. I'm glad that the SSR didn't do anything with Steve's blood and I'm curious to see how her revelation will be handled next week.
4. Dottie vs. SSR- The main action scene of the episode is when multiple SSR agents approach Dottie and attempt to block her exit but she manages to easily escape. I want to see more of the Black Widow program and Leviathan next week.
5. Jarvis demands entry- A humorous part of the episode is when Jarvis approaches the SSR's entrance and demands entry with a forged signed confession from Howard Stark. Jarvis is one of my favorite aspects of the show and I enjoy the humor he brings to the table. I also was wondering where Stark has been but it appears that Howard Stark will be back for the finale.

'Agent Carter' Season 1 Episode 6 'A Sin to Err' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Probably the best episode of 'Agent Carter ' so far that increased the tension of the series and set up some more interesting subplots. I'm eagerly anticipating next week's episode.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Dottie KO's Peggy- A crazy part of the episode was when Dottie ran into Peggy and knocked her out with Peggy's lipstick and SSR agents arrive and take advantage of the fact that Peggy is unconscious. I'm sure Peggy could have escaped had Dottie not ran into her. I'm curious if Dottie will come after Peggy again since she was ordered to kill her.
2. Hunt for Peggy- When the SSR decided to hunt for Peggy, it reminded me of the SHIELD hunt for Steve Rogers in 'Captain America The Winter Soldier'. Especially when Chief Dooley was saying to watch everywhere for her just like when Stilwell said to monitor all cameras, etc. I thought that connection was interesting since the two characters are closely related. I also liked that Peggy's friend helped out Peggy by acting.
3. Communication between buildings- I thought the communication between the Russian doctor and Dottie was very cool and reminiscent of spy communication where he made hand gestures that Dottie viewed through a sniper which she used to communicate with the reflection of the sun on the scope. I hope for more spy related things like this and think the Russian doctor was very involved in the Black Widow program because he seemed to know Dottie.

4. Hypnosis- So the doctor that Agent Carter and the Howling Commandos rescued last week is actually evil as he hypnotizes members of the SSR and acts very sinister. I was somewhat surprised by this but I expected there to be more behind the doctor than what  appeared oink the surface.
5. Jarvis bribes a kid- One hilarious moment of the episode was when Jarvis was freaked out by a young child who was hanging around while Peggy was investigating an apartment and Jarvis gives the kid a nickel to convince him to leave. I hope for more humor like this in the show and I think it would be funny if the kid returned to antagonize Jarvis in a future episode.

'Agent Carter' Season 1 Episode 5 'The Iron Ceiling' Review

Non Spoiler Review- 'Agent Carter' manages to deliver the best episode yet with some assistance from the Howling Commandoes! This episode has the best action seen on an episode of 'Agent carter' thus far, another connective tissue to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Howling commandoes and the Black Widow Program, and some of the best performances yet. I'm very excited for next weeks episode which looks to be even more thrilling.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Dum Dum Dugan & Peggy- it was really nice to see the interaction between Dugan and Carter which hasn't been touched upon in previous additions to the MCU such as 'Captain America The First Avenger', and the Marvel One-Shot 'Agent Carter'. He really looks out for her well being and safety and my favorite line of dialogue between the two was "Stop yahooing and help!". the dynamic between both character is very entertaining to watch and I hope Dum Dum Dugan and the Howling Commandoes return in future episodes.
2. Dottie snoops around- It was very creepy and suspenseful to watch Dottie snoop around Peggy's apartment and go through all of her belonging. i'm very glad she didn't look behind that painting or else she could have obtained Steve Roger's blood.
3. Agent Sousa connects the dots- It seems as though Sousa has discovered Peggy's secret and I'm curious if he will keep it to himself or not. Sousa was very observant and appears to be one of the agents who wants to always dig deeper to uncover clues, etc.
4. The Red Room- It is nice to have some connective tissue connecting Black widow's origin to the rest of the MCU although Natasha Romanov is not seen in this episode, since she hasn't been born yet, the Red Room, mentioned in'The Avengers', is shown revealing an early version of the Black Widow program that the Soviets used and what trauma Natasha had to go through to become Black Widow. I can't wait to see more relating to the Red Room and to learn more about it and what happens to these young Russian girls to make them cold blooded killers.
5. Chief Dooley undergoes further investigation- Dooley confronts Jarvis in an attempt to learn what happened at Finnow and Jarvis appears to tell him all the truth that he is unaware of this battle and what occurred there. I wonder if Dooley will continue to investigate this site in future episodes and what he will uncover.

'Agent Carter' Season 1 Episode 4 'The Blitzkrieg Button' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode brings us back from the show's one week hiatus with a return of Howard Stark, and a few intriguing  revelations. Overall, a decent episode but probably one of the weaker of the four episodes so far, but I think the Howling Commandos can make things a little more interesting next week.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Steve's blood- The weapon Stark requests peggy to retrieve from the SSR is revealed to be a sample of Steve Roger's blood that Stark thought could be revolutionary for medicine, etc. Peggy is angered by this and hides the blood asking Howard to leave. I'm curious if anyone will find the blood or what will become of it because there are no other super soldiers in the MCU currently.
2. Who is Dottie?- Dottie beats up the mobster boss who I assumed was going to be the antagonist of the episode and takes his automatic pistol. In an interview following the episode it was confirmed she's a product of an early version of the Black Widow program so there is now another link in the MCU. I'm curious to see if she's working for the Soviets.
3. Howard Stark- it was nice to see Howard Stark on the show again. I enjoy his interaction with Peggy and theres also more of his playboy persona present in the episode when he interacts with the other women living in the building with Peggy. I anticipate his return to the show as it continues and how involved he will be from this point onward.
4. Stan Lee Cameo- Stan Lee is hidden by a newspaper and then leans over to Howard requesting th sports section, it wasn't as humorous as his cameos in 'Captain America The Winter Soldier' or 'The Amazing Spiderman' but it's always nice to have a Stan Lee cameo!
5. Russian Massacre- Chief Dooley takes a trip to Germany to interrogate a prisoner who could potentially have information regarding Stark's weapons, etc. I liked how he gave the prisoner the easy way out with cyanide and thought it was hilarious when he offered one to the guard saying it was a breath mint. In the interrogation we learn that there was no battle of Finow revealing they found the Russians massacred with no explanation. I'm curious if it was an experiment gone haywire, or aliens like the Kree.
