'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 2 Episode 20 'Scars' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Another entertaining episode of 'Agents of SHIELD' that provides some nods to 'Avengers Age of Ultron' and interesting plot points to prepare for the season finale.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

*******Spoilers for Avengers Age of Ultron and This episode lie ahead******

Highlights of the episode

1. Jiaying starts a war- Jiaying meets with Commander Gonzales and the two discuss indexing the Inhumans. Gonzales gives her a gift which is actually her necklace and she smashes a terrigen crystal killing Gonzales. And then she shoots herself to make it appear Gonzales initiated the conflict and start a war with SHIELD. I'm interested to see what sacrifices either side will be forced to make in this war.
2. Grant Ward's plans- Agent 33 travels on a quinjet with Bobbi disguised as May and the two fight and they land at an unknown location and Grant Ward appears using an icer on Bobbi. The post credits scene also contained the three on a quinjet, Bobbi wakes up and Ward ices her once again. I'm very curious in learning what Ward and Agent 33's plans are and I'm sure they will be revealed in the finale.
3. Gonzales' cargo- Another interesting reveal is Gonzales' cargo in the ship so we have a visual of the cargo but have yet to learn what it is and what it does exactly. It seems as though it could harm Inhumans based on their fear of the object but I anticipate learning about it.
4. Koenig's Star Wars Sheets- In the beginning of the episode one of the Koenig's wake up and we see that he has Star Wars sheets. I thought this was a fun little easter egg and hope to see the Koenig's again.
5. Theta Protocol (AoU tie in)- In a brief opening sequence, we discover what Coulson was really doing on the sly all those months ago when he put 'Theta Protocol' together. No, he wasn't gathering super-powered people ; he was building a Helicarrier. A secret off-the-books Helicarrier which is the same helicarrier that saved the day in Age of Ultron. I like that the show seems to be much more connected to the MCU following 'Captain America The Winter Soldier'. I observed all the Age of Ultron easter eggs that included several references to Ultron in conversation, a news report titled "Crisis in Sokovia Averted", and a name drop for Tony Stark since he created Ultron.
