'Arrow' Season 2 Episode 15 'The Promise' Review

This episode is probably one of the biggest episodes so far out of a majority of the Arrow episodes so far and the episodes only seem to be getting better. This episode had the best backstory on the island so far.

 I'll start with the story in the present day since that's where the minority of the episode takes place it begins where Episode 14 left off where Oliver comes home only to find Slade hanging around. Oliver immediately distrusts Slade as Slade is snooping around the house to meet all those Oliver cares about. Oliver even resorts to attempting to stab Slade with an ice pick. Moira and Thea then show Slade their art gallery as Slade appears to take interest Oliver calls Team Arrow so they are aware  Slade is on his house and an imminent threat. Sara recognized his voice and puts the team to action preparing them to takeout Slade with Diggle set up to snipe him as Oliver takes Slade to his car. However things don't go as planned as one of Slade's associates takes out Diggle. Slade then reminds Oliver about the promise he made 5 years ago. Now back to the island Slade, Sara and Oliver are finally ready to take on the freighter as they light a bonfire as a distraction. Oliver then allows himself to be captured and questioned because he won't be affected by the truth serum and gives Dr. Ivo false information about their locations. Dr. Ivo then sends all of his men to the engine room at this point Sara and Slade board the boat with a parachute. They rescue Oliver return his bow and quiver and Slade puts on the Deathstroke mask and goes into the engine room or massacre Ivo's men who have no chance against him. They then free many of the prisoners and in the process Ivo makes Slade go berserk by revealing that Shado died because of Oliver. Sara manages to escape with a few of the prisoners as they swim to the island. However Oliver is captured by Slade an imprisoned. Slade then takes control of the freight by killing the captain and injures Ivo for killing Shado and the flash back ends with Slade promising Oliver he will hurt everyone he cares about before killing him. Overall this was one of my favorite episodes!
