This is the second episode in a row that has adapted a comic book team up themed episode and this was just as good as last week's episode, which didn't feel like an 'Arrow' episode due to the lack of Oliver but it was good to have a Diggle based episode, this episode expands to focus on Sara, Laurel, Roy, and the Huntress (sorta). I was glad to see the Huntress return for an episode and maybe she'll make a return later this season.
*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******
Starling City
The episode begins with Oliver and Sara assisting the police trying to arrest a guy named Hugo Mannheim, which incidentally leads them to Frank Bertinelli, the Huntresses father. This is bad news because the Huntress, still out to kill her father, can't be far behind. So Team Arrow meets and they tell Sarah all about Helena, she seems slightly jealous. Meanwhile Laurel attends her 2nd AA meeting and gets a call that her old boss can get her job back so she can try the Bertinelli case.
At Verdant Roy gives Thea a bracelet before heading out with the team. They find a rental car and when they stop the car the driver shoots Roy in the hand only enraging him and stimulating the mirru kuru. Oliver has to stop him by calling him Speedy, a nickname for Thea (also a reference to the comics). The driver turns out to be a decoy hired by the Huntress to drive the car. The huntress took his car and is after her father. Oliver checks on Roy who claims to be ok. He tells Roy to stay away from Thea.
Meanwhile when Sara finds out that Laurel is trying the Bertinelli case she tells Laurel to drop the case but Laurel refuses. Elsewhere Oliver argues with Sara over how the Huntress should be taken care of. Oliver arrives at the courthouse just as the Huntress attacks. This was a trap by the cops to attempt to catch Huntress but she takes hostages and demands her father. Oliver escapes but Laurel is still inside.
Sara arrives as the Black Canary and saves Laurel from Huntress' men. As they hide in an office Laurel attempts to drink but Sara stops her. Laurel then refuses to leave until all the hostages are out so Canary ambushes Huntress when she tries to kill a hostage. Canary gets pushed out a window and Laurel is taken captive.
When Arrow calls Huntress she demands a trade: her father for Laure so Lance gets Bertinelli into a police van where Canary and Arrow are ready. Back in the courthouse Laurel tells Canary about Tommy's death and how Huntress can stop what she's doing but she doesn't agree. As Arrow notifies her, Huntress leaves the courthouse disguised as a cop. The cops then track her through Laurel's phone.

As the two parties converge for the exchange, Bertinelli says he’s sorry for hurting the little girl his daughter once was. Huntress is about to shoot him when the cops open fire. In the confusion, Canary confronts Huntress again. Canary ends up with the upper hand and is prepared to kill Huntress, but Laurel stops her. In the wake of the fight, Helena finds that her father was shot and killed in the crossfire.
At the police station, Oliver visits Helena. She doesn’t feel different now that her father’s dead, meaning Oliver was right all along. He says he was wrong in thinking he could help her when he was hurting and a killer himself, though he’s trying to be better now. He also tells Helena she’s not alone.
Laurel learns Donner was fired. According to the D.A., he also didn’t have the power to rehire her. Laurel, though, threatens to tell the press about Donner’s involvement in the hostage situation if she’s not reinstated. The D.A., after agreeing, says she thought blackmail was below Laurel.
Later, Oliver finds Thea crying. She’s upset about all the lying going on around her, from Roy to their mother. She tells Oliver he’s the only one who never lies to her before leaving. The same night, Roy loses his cool at Verdant and realizes Oliver’s right about being a danger. He tries to break up with Thea, but she refuses to accept it, saying she won’t let Roy go through whatever he’s going through alone. Roy eventually resorts to making out with the bartender where Thea would find them, and Thea throws the bracelet at him.
Meanwhile in the Arrow cave, an upset Roy crumples Thea’s metal bracelet like paper.
The episode then closes with Slade offering Thea a ride home.
The Island
There wasn't much action on the island this episode. The freighters engine broke down. So on the island Sara is able to communicate with Slade through walkie talkies and he asks for a Hendrik, the only person who can fix the boats engine. Meanwhile Slade tortures Oliver and tattoos him to remind him of what he did to Shado. Slade requests a trade, Oliver for Hendrik, unfortunately Hendrik doesn't agree with this so Sara is forced to knock him out and they tie him up.
Overview
This is a new subheading for my reviews that just made more sense in the grand scheme of things. In my other reviews, like Once Upon a Time and Arrow, I separate the headings by setting: present day and the flashbacks in the proper environment, etc. I felt as though I basically do an overview of the episode at the end of the review anyway so why not make a heading? One thing I noticed about this episode is that it kinda sidelined Oliver, Felicity, and Diggle but I guess you cant squeeze all of that character development in one episode. I liked that we got to see Canary resort to her dark side but come back. Im so excited for next weeks episode. I'm curious what will happen to Thea. Here's the preview to next weeks episode.
