'The Flash' Season 2 Episode 6 'Enter Zoom' Review

Non Spoiler Review- A phenomenal episode of 'The Flash' that is certainly among my favorites of the entire series if not the best. This episode started out very light with some hilarious moments and a little bit of cheesy dialogue that put a smirk on my face that is followed by a very dark serious nature at the very end of the episode as soon as Zoom arrives. I really enjoyed finally seeing Barry confront Zoom this episode as well as Zoom himself. As I've spoke about in my last review, this episode is even better than last week's and 'The Flash' is maintaining this steady increase in quality each week so I can't wait for the remainder of the season.

*******There will be Spoilers from this point on*******

Highlights of the episode

1. Zoom- I loved Zoom in this episode and I think he proved in the last ten minutes he is the most menacing, powerful villain yet. One thing I noticed that was awesome was the score changed building up for Zoom to show up towards the end and certainly enhanced how awesome and menacing he is. As soon as Zoom came onscreen he proved just why Barry should be afraid of him. His fight with Barry was awesome to watch and I liked that Zoom showed almost no mercy breaking Barry's bones and possibly causing some other harm to him which I will discuss further. I really liked that he didn't fall for Team Flash's plot showing he's much more clever than the team thought and is  sinister threat. I liked that he took his time and confronted Flash when it was least expected.
2. Barry can't feel his legs- At the very end of the episode Barry awakens and wants to get up but Caitlin discourages it saying he should rest. Barry then realized he can't feel his legs. I think this is supposed to imply Zoom stole his speed but I don't think that's quite the case. I noticed during the fight Zoom hits him in the spine and seems to possibly break Barry's back so I think that Barry is temporarily paralyzed, I don't think Barry lost his speed. Zoom also directly stabbed him with Well's dart so I think that the impact of that formula at such a quick speed may have made the formula last longer and Barry temporarily doesn't have access to the speed force. I think he will obviously get his speed back in order for the show to continue and I think it could very likely happen next episode.
3. Zoom demonstrates his power-  Zoom certainly showed just how much faster than Barry he is as he caught the lightning Barry threw at him, caught multiple bullets at the same time, and really damaged Barry. I really liked how he taunted Barry by showcasing his latest victory by running to the CCPD, Iris' newspaper base of operations, and then Star Labs I felt this added to the character revealing that he's quite arrogant and wants people to know that he bested the Flash.
4. Cisco vibes on Wells- Cisco uses his powers and discovers that Well's daughter is being held captive by Zoom. In addition to this in some flashbacks to Wells in Earth 2 we learn that the Arrow of Earth 2 is Robert Queen similarly to how Thomas Wayne is Batman on Earth 2 and in the Flashpoint storyline. I liked how Wells didn't eat Cisco to use his powers on him and the insight the flashbacks gave us into this version of Harrison Wells. I hope to learn more about the Earth 2 Wells as well as the other characters from Earth 2 int he coming episodes because I found the development to be quite interesting.
5. Staged fight with Doctor Light- The staged fight between Linda disguised as Doctor Light and Barry was hilarious as the dialogue and the fight was so cheesy. One thing that made it funnier was how Cisco, Caitlin and Iris acknowledged it was very cheesy and I thought Cisco's line saying that next time he'll make sure he writes better fight dialogue was hilarious. It was also very funny that Linda was confused as to what she should do and how fake the fight seemed. I also liked Cisco's line about how the logo was a lot of work to make.
