'The Flash' Season 1 Episode 4 'Going Rogue' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode brought about a change to the Flash formula where there's no freak of the week. nIt brings about a much stronger interesting, ruthless villain and there is an Arrow Flash crossover where Felicity visits Central City. Overall the best episode so far.

Highlights of the episode

1. Captain Cold- It was nice to see a new villain who is much stronger than the weak villains they have had the previous two episodes. He is much more interesting and I can't wait to see the classic Flash villain return in a future episode. 

2. Cisco tricks Captain Cold- I liked this scene and thought it was hilarious Cisco was holding a vacuum not a weapon. I also liked that Captain. Cold really liked Cisco's nickname. So I assume Captain Cold might go about calling himself that now.

3. Flash mastering speed force- We got to see Barry stretch the limits of his ability this week where he saves several people in a train in mere seconds. I love the visual effects they use for the Flash and can't wait to see more.

4. Barry Felicity Romance- This was an interesting aspect of the show were the two seemed to play off of each others intelligence week. And I wonder what Oliver Queen would do if he found out. I'm all for more arrow Flash crossovers and can't wait for the next one. 

5. Felicity easily hacks into system- I thought it was funny that Team Flash saw hacking into a system seemed so difficult and Felicity did it in under a minute like it was nothing. I like moments like these on the show and enjoy the humor.

'Gotham' Season 1 Episode 6 'Spirit of the Goat' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode is another strong episode that centers more on Bullock an gives Edward Nygma a little more screen time.

Highlights of the episode

1. Penguin shows up just in time- Penguin continues to cause a lot of drama in Gotham and is definitely one of the highlights of the show every week. But he showed up just in time to reveal Gordon didn't kill him and I'm sure this will stir up lot of controversy in Gotham City. 

2. Edward Nygma- It's nice to see another character who is slowly becoming the villain that we all know as the Riddler. It seems that he is already obsessed with riddles and organization. 

3. We learn who is behind the Goat- Another big twist is that the Goat was a result of a crazy psychiatrist. She hypnotized people to become the goat and seemed to be a different type of vigilante.

4. Gordon is accused of Cobblepott's murder- I didn't expect Gordon t be arrested so soon but it seems he will have other problems now that Penguin revealed himself. 

5. Catwoman sneaks in Wayne Manor- I'm hoping we will see Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne meet soon and I'm curious what she stole from the Wayne's.

'Arrow' Season 3 Episode 3 'Corto Maltese' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Overall this was a great episode that explains what has been going on with Merlin and Thea.

Highlights of the episode

1. Nyssa shows up- Hmm seems like The League of Assassins will appear in Starling soon. I liked that she was a twist at the end and demanded to know what happened to Sara.

2. Merlin Trains Thea- We now know what Merlin was doing when he left with The and it seems that she is very deadly now.

3. Laurel begins training- Laurel is now trying to follow her sister's path and become the Black Canary just like her character in the comics although Sara Lance isn't an actual character in the comics. She will be trained by Ted Grant who is Wild Cat in the comics. 

4. Thea decides to return to Starling- It's very interesting that Oliver and Roy had convinced her to return and that she was able to defeat her father to convince him to let her go. 

5. Ray Palmer looks at weapon specs- This was very interesting. I wonder what Ray Palmer wants to do with these weapons and what they will do.

'The Flash' Season 1 Episode 3 'Things You Can't Outrun' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Once again this keeps on running (no pun intended) getting progressively better every week. While the end fight scene may not have been the best the drama was nice as well as the plot and set up for the future of the show. Overall definitely the best episode but I'm sure next weeks will be even cooler because Captain Cold will be introduced (pun intended) and Felicity will be coming onto the show.

Highlights of the episode

1. Who is Harrison Wells?- Another reveal about Dr. Wells is made in a flash back where the particle accelerator goes off, fails, and he goes into the room where we see him in the first episode walking and watches video surveillance of Barry and says something along the lines "I'll see you soon Barry". This reveals that he is probably from the future if you factor in all the additional evidence from the previous episodes. I think it is very likely that he may turn out to be one of the Reverse Flashs.

2. Metahuman Prison- I like that they realized they needed a place to put the metahumans and it was very clever to use the particle accelerator. I wouldnt be surprised if we see some villains escape from the makeshift a few times throughout the show. 

3. Barry speaks with his father- In a touching final scene Barry talks to his father once again and his father tells him that when Barry was a child he took a long time to walk but when he did start walking he ran and ran towards his mother. I really enjoy these conversations between Barry and his father and hope that they continue in future episodes.

                              
 3. Flash is saved by Team Flash- The first time Flash runs into the Mist he inhales the poisonous gas and manages to run back to Star labs where Snow, Cisco and Dr. Wells help revive him after he goes unconscious. It is revealed that he survived because his cells grow back quicker after Snow took out some of his respiratory cells. I enjoyed this and liked that they managed to create an antidote based on the gas sample Barry obtained. 

5. 'Fire and Ice' Reference-  Kaitlyn Snow makes a comment that she and Ronnie were like "fire and ice". This is a reference to the character's comic book counterparts Firestorm and Killer Frost. We know that in the show we will see Ronnie become the Firestorm and we may see Snow become Killer Frost.Their characters are pictured below.

'Gotham' Season 1 Episode 5 'Viper' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Definitely one of the better episodes so far. This episode further develops the characters of Alfred, Oswald Cobblepot, Fish Mooney, Bruce Wayne, and Gordon of course. And I love character development! Also we see the gears start moving in Fish Mooney's plan to rise to power. Another great episode of 'Gotham'! I'm looking forward to Scarecrow in next week's episode!

Highlights of the episode 

1. Alfred helps out Bruce- At the end of the episode we see Alfred have a change of mood and he assists Bruce Wayne in his investigation of Wayne Enterprises. It was a very touching moment that made me let out an audible "Aw", which is why this moment was bumped up to my #1 highlight of the episode because we see the relationship of Alfred helping out Bruce begin. 

2. Maroni gains the Penguin as a weapon against Falcone- Definitely one of the best parts of the episode was this side story where Penguin confesses where he came from and Maroni grows worried so he kidnaps Gordon. I was glad Gordon told the truth so we can continue to see Penguin in the show. Penguin's confession earned him another promotion and Maroni uses his knowledge of Falcone's facilities to get a hit on Falcone. I'm excited to see more of the Penguin's rise to power. 

3. Wayne Enterprises is corrrupt- Another interesting revelation is that Wayne was developing chemical weapons, the first of which being venom which is where Bane's powers come from. 

4. Fish Mooney trains and deploys her new weapon- This was an interesting aspect of the episode. I liked how Fish Mooney was hard on her and said not to call her mother yet because she has to prove herself. I'm Fish Mooney will continue to use her against Falcone. 

5. Edward Nigma's obsession with the Viper drug- One interesting little scene was where Nygma talks about the Viper drug. It reveals his obsession with evil things and whatnot and I can't wait to finally see him become the Riddler.

'Arrow' Season 3 Episode 2 'Sara' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode deals with the mourning of a character who was killed in cold blood. This manages to affects everyone in Team Arrow and Laurel Lance. This episode is another good one with great action scenes and a plentiful amount of character development. Overall, this was a great episode and I can't wait for the next episode!

Highlights of the episode

 1. Farewell to Sara- This was a very heartfelt part of the episode where Oliver and Co. give Sara a proper burial and say their goodbyes. Dingle then decides to name his new baby girl Sara in memory of Sara Lance. Definitely a great part of the episode.

 2. Laurel tries to kill- It's clear that Laurel wants revenge for Sara's death and the fact that she pulled the trigger means she plane to kill Komodo. Luckily Oliver foresaw this and didn't leave the gun loaded. Laurel is changing and will probably become the new Black Canary by the end of the season to honor her sister.

3. Oliver saves Tommy- I thought it was interesting that Oliver went to the trouble of kidnapping Tommy to pretend to release him just so he wouldn't be forced to kill his best friend. This was definitely the best flash back scene from Hong Kong even though there have only been two flashbacks. I'm interested in how the future flashbacks will reveal more about Oliver. 

4. The murder mystery- Well this episode narrows down the possibilities of who murdered Sara. We now know it wasn't Komodo and I doubt it was either Thea or Merlin since they aren't in Starling City. I think it was someone who Sara was familiar with because she was very calm when she saw the killer so it could have been Ra'as Al Ghoul or one of the members of the League of Assassins. 

5. Thea is training with Merlin- The cliffhanger of the episode was the reveal that Thea is training to become deadly with Merlin and seems to be much more dangerous than she has ever been in the past after what is shown of her training. I'm interested in learning what she has been up to since she left Starling and can't wait to see what she becomes.

'The Flash' Season 1 Episode 2 'The Fastest Man Alive' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This episode maintains the momentum from the pilot (no pun intended) and includes more action sequences and development for Barry's character. The visual effects are spectacular and I love how the show handles the Flash's speed with slow-motion sequences and sped up shots. This is definitely an improvement from the pilot and I hope the show continues to get better every week!

Highlights of the episode

1. The mystery behind Harrison Wells- The end of the episode only made me want to know the real identity behind Harrison Wells even more. I believe that he is from the future because it seems he killed Simon Stag to make sure no one tries to exploit the Flash or that he wants to exploit the Flash himself. I can't wait to find out who he really is!

 2. Flash vs. Multiplex- This fight scene at the end was very epic because Barry runs through Multiplex's army and flings them aside. He then finds the original and defeats him thus defeating all of the clones. It kind of reminded me of the Avengers Age of Ultron Quicksilver poster from San Diego Comic Con. Regardless I can't wait to see more epic action sequences in the show's future.

 3. The Red Streak saves the day- It seems as though Iris West is now obsessed with the Flash and discovering more about him, etc. I think that obsession will only grow throughout the season. I also liked that Barry was using his powers to help people in danger. I love that he has his own team that helps him behind the scenes similarly to 'Arrow's Team Arrow that helps Oliver Queen.

4. Detective West's relationship with Barry- I enjoyed that his episode explored the relationship between Detective West and Barry through flashbacks and the interaction between him and Barry throughout the episode. The flashbacks explained why he feels that he is responsible for Barry and keeping him safe from. harm. I enjoy this and hope it will be further explored in the future of the show. 

5. The cosmic treadmill- This was a nice Easter egg that suggests that the show will eventually explore time travel, which the flash does commonly in the comics.

'Arrow' Season 3 Episode 1 'The Calm' Review

Non Spoiler Review- Not the best episode of 'Arrow' but a good one nonetheless. Alot has happened since the end of Season two and we learn where all the characters currently are and what they're doing like Roy finally has a suit, Felicity has a new job, etc. It also introduces new characters and villains and sets up the future of the season. I enjoyed it, it just wasn't as great as the season 2 finale which is honestly hard to top in terms of action.

Highlights of the episode

1. Black Canary comes back (sorta)- It was nice to see Sarah back even though it was for about 5-10 min before her abrupt death.I'm very interested ion learning who exactly killed her and but I'm sure that will be answered. My top guesses are Ras Al Ghul, Merlin, or some new villain.

2. Roy's Arsenal costume- I just love his new costume! The red costume is awesome!

3. Ray Palmer- I really enjoyed the addition of Brandon Routh to the cast and can't wait to see him become the Atom onscreen.  He did a great job and I enjoyed the scenes between him and Felicity and can't wait to see what they do with his character in the future of the series.

4. The city now recognizes The Arrow- It's a nice change that Oliver can now openly fight crime without having to worry about the city's police force. I also liked that they explained what ended up happening to Captain Lance and now he has to take medicine or he will be injured. 

5. New Count Vertigo- I liked that they created a new Count and hope to see him return in future episodes! I hope he grows in importance throughout the season.

'The Flash' Season 1 Episode 1 'City of Heroes' Review

Non Spoiler Review- This show had a great first episode and hits the ground running! (no pun intended) Grant Gustin does a fantastic job portraying the Flash. The visual effects were great and I loved the sequences that were done in slow motion to reiterize that Barry Allen moves faster than the world around him and also enjoyed the effects for when Flash was running. The supporting cast is also great but the villain of the episode was a little lame and didn't really have much importance. Im excited for where the show is headed though!

Highlights of the episode

 1. 'Arrow' crossover- Definitely a major highlight was when Barry goes to Oliver Queen for advice. I was very glad that the producers decided to include this cameo because it helps to tie the shows together in the same world. I can't wait for the upcoming Flash/Arrow crossover episode!

 2. The suit- I love this version of the Flash's suit because it is very modern because its not too bright of a red. I think it looks very nice and can't wait to see it progress into the classic suit.

 3. This futuristic newspaper article- I was very intrigued by this and can't wait to learn more about it and how Dr. Wells got this. I wonder if The Flash will explore time trave soon.

4. Who is Dr. Wells?- Ok so obviously Dr. Wells is from the future or something and I'm curious how he stood up despite being wheelchair bound. I can't wait to find out more about his character.

5. Reverse Flash- Fans of the Flash will recognize that Reverse Flash was the one who killed Barry's mother. You can make out the shape of a yellow and red man moving at super speed, which is pictured above.  Can't wait to see him fight the Flash.
